Looking at this locally tonight and we've agreed a verbal price of 1800, good value for money? https://bit.ly/1e2wkXg

I know I'm a pain in the ass with my threads lol, apologies in advance!!
Looks like it needs a bit of cosmetic work but nothing major!!

Personally... no. But I prefer my engine cases to be cases and my screen to be less homosex, also my switchgear to be fairly resistant to water invading.

But aside from that.. I'd offer £1400. Maybe too much, also the private plate, you keeping or ditching, thought there was a yearly fee to pay for a private one.

£1100 for the exhaust, has the bike got a power commander or had some form of remap? if not, that £1100 of nothing but additional noise really.

I'd be looking at these if it was me...

Factor in 80>100 to get it shipped to you.

Only if you hold it on retention certificate, once it's on a vehicle it's the same as any other registration plate. (No fees)

Surely that's a sensible price? Maybe not a steal

I sold my GSXR750Y for £1200. I bought a mint Thundercat for £1200. I sold a mint 04 Daytona 600 for £1800.

That to me is definitely not a bargain in my eyes, for others maybe, but yes I'd offer £1400 as I'd want an engine casing and dyno time to resolve the exhaust that was fitted.

Thanks buddy I'm not commited so thought I'd get the BCF consensus, if he produces a receipt for more than just a bolt on exhaust are we getting closer to the 1800 figure. I should be looking for dyno time and power commanders at that price then!

Well, for example.

Take a Street Triple for example.

Buy it for 8k.

Spend over 1k on exhaust, full system.

It will sound nicer, but more than likely slightly different from stock, some may make it weaker at various parts of rev range, some the total opposite.

You can then get it set up properly so it fuels correctly at the right time on the dyno. Probably £200 for a generic one, maybe a little more.

If you leave it, its just a big price tag that you'll try adding into the sale that doesn't really do much.

101hp to 116hp would make me think, hmm that's quite an increase, saves me the hassle and he has spent some time and money on it.

No mention of power, adjustments, just "£1100" on an exhaust... I'd just ponder on it.

I'd find other bikes for £1800 personally.

Bear in mind that Paddy's view on Gixxers was coloured by the fact that his was previously owned and abused by Dusty, and left outside for four years or something.

Well, looking closely the switchgear probably isn't an issue. You can get a replacement from a breakers without too much hassle.

However, that engine case is very very suspect. It looks like it's hiding some serious damage, and if there are bits of metal from the cases inside the engine then it's bye bye engine.

To be honest, for that money you are never going to get a minter, however You want to go with something that needs a new tyre, or a new fork seal or something, not one which could lunch it's engine at any time.

Yeah I know what your saying, valid points, I don't think it's worth it now, all sorts of nasties could be going on under that engine casing, it doesn't protrude beyond the fairings so why didn't they crack first if it was just dropped!!

Shifty

Mine was a minter, honest.

Nothing against GSXRs, would happily have an 04 onwards 750 or 05 onwards 1000 Thumbs Up

Apparently only "he" agreed it. This thread makes me sad. Buy a bike, don't buy a bike, but please try not to be a prissy dickerer. Word is bond, gangsta.

The paint on that bike reminds me of when I would fill a tub with various different colours of paint and dip pieces of paper into it to make crazy tie dye looking art.

The bike looks shitter than those pictures and that's saying something. Laughing

I would have said £1600 was fair, possibly less in the winter.
