Galaxy s3 freezing

Bought an s3 off glyn a few month ago. Has been fine until a fortnight ago.
Now it is constantly freezing for no reason what so ever. I can have no apps running, screen off and it will freeze or i can be playing games with apps running in the background and it will freeze. There is nothing the same when it freezes that i can work out anyway.
Ive tried resetting it to "factory" no change what so ever. Restored the backup then deleted all apps and all no essential files and it still happens.
Any ideas what could be causing it? Or any way i can find out what is causing it?
Its running AOKP milestone 2, with gapps 20130301 package and apex launcher.

Very weird mate, That rom was a reliable one. Unless the Kernel that came with it was unstable. Try this rom instead https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663656

Make sure to boot into recovery and wipe the Dalvik cache and normal cache before flashing it. Omega roms are awesome.

Yeh it is. Been perfectly fine upto a couple weeks ago then started titting about. I hadn't downloaded or updated anything then neither. totally random.
That's why I decided to update the to milestone 2 and the new gapps package. I hoped it would cure it but it made no odds.
I'll have to give that rom a try.

make sure to do a full wipe when it asks you on flashing it,

Probably your connection, Omega has always been pretty quick (if not always the most stable rom in daily use for me). It could be a heat issue given the weather of the last few weeks, at least that's my first thought if it's previously been behaving. Now you mention it, I've had to do a couple of reboots myself

my s3 was freezing a bit back (official rom) and updating to a newer official rom resolved it. Something relating to the kernal not picking up bad bits of memory and trying to use them, the new version recognises any bad memory and stops the phone from trying to use it.

That's how I understood it anyway

It was downloaded by the time i woke up this morning lol, flashed the rom and touch wood not one freeze yet today!

No point, you don't know who's been messing with the app.

Either use aptoide, or Chelpus play store, with chelpus you buy the item legitimately, press the refund button, and you get your money back but you get to keep the app and it's licence.

yup.

you can even back up the app using Titanium backup and keep it on your SD card as a backup. You can only refund each item once, so if you wipe your phone you can just restore from your titanium backup.

Yeah I have regular titanium backups, that's perfect. Doesn't seem to allow "incompatible" apps like it claims though. Wanted scriblenauts, which I know worked via blackmart, but still shows incompatible via this

4.027. 4.16 had that issue, although maybe there's newer, not sure of the official source for updates etc
