I passed my mod1 yesterday with a clean sheet, and I still can't believe it! Mod2 is now booked for Monday 12th August, and I have a lesson on the Friday before that. The damage so far is over £700 but fingers crossed that should be it...

Tips for mod2 are very welcome, and thank you all for the support shown on my posts re mod1!

Just stay calm and focused really. Going into it hands shaking petrified of failure will only distract you and make it more likely really. Treat it like any other day you ride, and just keep reminding yourself of the shoulder ob's and things you need to be doing, and watch the speed, quite easy to go a little over especially in 30's when you're busy focusing on all the other things going on and you need to be remembering Thumbs Up

Good luck

Clean sheet, eh? Good ride, that. It'll give you a sweet little "cushion" for the mod 2 - cos, without getting cocky, you can go into it thinking hey actually I'm not too bad at this lark.

Tips for mod 2 - hmmm. Cancel them flashers innit. Good obs throughout. The usual. Wink

Congrats on Mod1, it is the harder one. As with Mod1 the important thing is to relax. Try to treat it like a normal ride, but with someone giving you directions. Tips:
Slightly move your mirrors so it's obvious that you're using them
Before you move the handle bars do a life saver - can't fail for too many
Check you've cancelled your indicators
If you take a wrong turn, or find yourself in the wrong lane, just carry on, don't try to correct. The examiner will put you right
What helped for me was to do a running commentary as I was riding, as though I was explaining every move and thought.
Oh, and finally, enjoy it Thumbs Up

Well done mate!

Its a great feeling isn't it?

Tip for MOD 2 , keep going even if you think you may have failed, you just never know the outcome till you get back.

Mod 2 just keep going, don't let early cock ups get you down! I started by going off at the wrong exit at a roundabout and then went straight ahead instead of right at a traffic light. The examiner told me to stop and turn the ignition off. He came over and told me to stop being so nervous and start again.
I was sure I'd failed but passed with 1 minor!
