HI guys I went to do my 33bhp license before the deadline but my mod 2 kept getting cancelled because of snow ect so i missed the deadline. Crying or Very sad
This now means I have to take the A2 test and then the upgrade to A 2 years later. I will be going to sheffield in september to uni so I am wondering how hard is sheffield as a city to ride and drive in compared to york (there seems to be lots of multi lane roundabouts and one way systems) as well as what places would you recommend for bike training; it seems a lot cheaper than york for prices of tuition ect.

thanks Thumbs Up

I'd recommend getting it done in Rotherham, just next to Sheffield. Not many one ways e.t.c. Look at https://www.symtc.co.uk/ Nigel is a top bloke and get you through the tests with easy and very reasonable rates.

Thanks, I think the MPTC is in Rotheram too. York only has 1 resident examiner the other one comes from Rotheram apparently. its going to be weird at the vosa site at thorpe arch where i did my mod 1 we had to go round a building for the high speed exercises so doing it the normal way on youtube might be good Laughing.

Yes the MPTC is in Rotherham and there is a big potential problem. Just after leaving the centre you turn left and soon come to a series of four spiral roundabouts - you will get some on the way out and some on the way back. They have caught so many out especially the huge and unwieldy College Road spiral roundabout. Just make sure you stay in your lane whatever happens, it's easy to fail by changing lane.

I can't speak to doing a test in Sheffield, but there are plenty of big roundabouts and one way shenanigans for testers to try and trip you up if they are of a mind.

Isn't that the point of a test?

Nice city to be a student in though! Thumbs Up

It's just like any city I suppose, easy once you've done it a few times. I did all my training with Bikesafe at Owlerton but had to go to Rotherham for my test. They were really good and friendly in my experience so I'd recommend them.
