When i got my bike out the shed, both tyres were flat. Unsurprising as i hadnt used it in years.

Anyway ive since pumped them to their max (55psi). About 10 days later i checked them and they are both at 17psi.
Does this hint a leak or is this normal for bicycle tyres? In the 10 days or so i had probably done about 40 miles if that.

Also, i plan to get some schwalbe city jets. Are the sizes more or less universal? Its a pretty bog standard front suspension mountain bike im using.
Thanks

Umm, not really normal, but not out of the ordinary IMO. My road bike will lose up to 50 psi in that time. From 120 down to 70-80.

My MTB I don't tend to worry so much, and boost them up to like 30psi once every six weeks or so.

Neither of them have any punctures.

So i just went out to the bike today and both tyres were flat. So ill get some new ones.
Not sure about sizes though.
The rim says 26x20. The existing tyres say: 26x2.125, then next to that it says 57-559.

I was wondering which tyre size i could put on which would make riding the easiest possible?
Also, are some inner tubes better quality than others?

You really shouldn't be losing more than 20 PSI in a week in normal conditions.

Check the tyre is seated correctly, that the rim tape is not exposed leaving spokes to pinch the inner-tube resulting in a slow puncture.

The only time you can expect to lose a lot of air in a short amount of time is if you use CO2 canisters to re-inflated on the fly after a puncture. CO2 molecules are small enough to penetrate through inner tube rubber and so are only good for 48 hours or so. It is recommended to deflate and reinflate with good old fresh air.

thanks will the 1.50 tyre fit on 2.0 rim with a 1.75 innertube?
