Apparently Michael Dunlop's will be parading this 1999 RGV500 XR89 at the Classic TT. It was an ex Kenny Roberts Jr 3 GP winner.

I think this is the same bike that Streetbike had on display a few years ago. Looks very purposeful like any of the 500's.

I have always wondered what the delivery is like on these, compared to a 990cc Moto GP or a WSB bike like a Ducati 1198 etc.

I've heard that in general terms the 500's would run down to 6000rpm and pull ok, and were only terrifying between 8500-12000rpm. below and above that they were almost ridable/docile.

Certainely very different to todays 18000rpm Moto GP engines.
