Just after talking to someone yesterday about how many people were having crashes and coming off their bikes recently i've gone and done it myself.

Bloody cold tyres and slippy road and me still half asleep on my way into work. Was going around a corner not far from my house at about 40mph and the bike just slid away under me and slid up the road for 20m. Thankfully because of the crash bungs I only have one fairing panel to replace and a hairline crack on the nosecone which can easily be repaired.

The funny thing was within 10secs of me coming off and realising I was laying in the road about 4 housewives had run out of their houses in their dressing gowns to make sure that I was OK!

Sounds like a Monty Python sketch.
Are you sure it was a slippery road that caused the crash, and not some piano wire? Mr. Green

Unlucky. I don't have to use my bike to commute (live within walking distance), but it really makes me think twice about going for a rideout Neutral

Unlucky on the spill mate. I'm tempted to push my luck now, just to see if I can get an eyeful. Wink

Shame that mate, at least the damage doesn't sound too bad.

It can be a bit of a gamble this time of year.

Unlucky mate. Still gonna cost you a pretty penny though isn't it? I've been sliding all over the place these last few weeks. Touch wood I won't drop this winter.

Tough luck mate. Same happened to me not long ago. Neutral

Damn weather. Thumbs Down

The more I think about it the more I realise: sportbikes just aren't make for Winter.

And just like to say again to everyone: make sure you have your tyre pressures correctly set.

Glad to hear your OK mate, and your bike's not too badly damaged Thumbs Up.

Fell asleep on the settee last night for about 10 minutes, and you know when sometimes you wake up startled all of a sudden, I did that cos I'd had a dream I'd been going round a left corner and lost the front end and just remember shouting NOOOO!!. Was gonna go out on my bike today but that kinda put me off, knowing my luck it'll happen, and with the state my arm's in at the moment I could do without dropping my bike on that side again.

Heh, I got you beat: I had a dream I was being stabbed!
I felt the knife going in and everything, and can still kind of recall the feeling.

*shivers*

Anyway, back to topic:
Hope the bike is ok, as well as yourself. Those bungs should have saved a lot of money, but sometimes they can cause more damage than they prevent (because the force is localised, rather than being spread over the bike).
Remember to keep your eyes on Ebay, there could be some cheap bits on there that are just what you need Thumbs Up
