I've bought some clip ons for my FZ6 as I'm doing a two day trackday in Le Mans next week to give the bike a slightly more aggressive riding position and hopefully avoid me looking like a monkey (like this):

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/315456_10150971693172167_1373159793_n.jpg

So bought these:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271196133466?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

They've arrived and I got them out the packaging and tried to see how they would fit and here is my problem...... how the fuck do I get it to fit the left hand side?

It does look like you have two from the same side, but looking at the eBay ad, can they slide out and go in from the other side, when upside down?

On the eBay page you can clearly see two screws clamping the bars in place. There is even a picture of the bars loose. Do the ones you received not have those screws?

If you're being thick, I'm being thick too. There's no way that my brain can see those 2 clip ons providing you with what you want. After initially thinking "oh, just flip the one over, and you'll be good to go!", I got to a "...ah, wait a mo..." place, and I'm now rotating and inverting it all in my head with no success.

I'd like to think it would be easier with the things actually physically in front of you to play with, easier to make it work or know for sure it was an impossibility.

Me, I vote for impossible.

If you take the S out of the Facebook URL it will actually embed the image. (http as opposed to https).

The eBay pictures shows the clamps as being handed. One has the vertical clamp clockwise from the horizontal one, and t'other is anticlockwise. It also claims that they're angled down at 7 degrees.

You've been sent two identical ones. Even if you fit them both facing the same way and reverse the bar on one of them, if they're angled then you'll then have one bar drooping and one standing rampant.

Good luck.

They aren't mirror symmetrical, nor centre line symmetrical so they won't work for what you want. You might be able to make them fit but it looks like one will be pointing upwards and one will be pointing downwards!

Fuck sake. I thought that was the case.

But what gets me is they've got 2 identical ones pictured in all the listings!

I just wanted to check I wasn't being stupid.

Looks like I'm going to have to look like a monkey after all :/

In fact thinking about it I have a bunch of stamps and a chunky bubblewrap envelope to use, could easily get them to you by the end of the week if you want them.

Remove standard bars, flip upside down back to front, and clamp back down onto the top yoke.

So they droop towards you and down

But what about 'vintage' clip ons, they used to fit them to old 'vintage' bikes to make them handle better, especially if worn with a big 'vintage' buckle

Look again.

It doesn't help that they're showing one of the bars inserted the wrong way (presumably for pretty-picture purposes) but the clamps themselves are different.

https://rogerborg.dnsd.me/clamps-proper.jpg

They've sent you two clamps the same, that's not what's shown in the ad.

Never mind, you make contact all problem are can be easy sort out for you give all 5 star.

What diameter are the top of your forks? Have a spare set for the R6 if you can't get a replacement in time.

Who needs clip ons?

Tilted the handlebars forwards and turned them round so it's had the same effect so all is good!

Before

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/Fixing%20the%20Bike/IMAG0137.jpg

After

https://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/0l0dom0l0/20130817_191638.jpg

Also fitted the R6 master cylinder which is the same bore diameter but hopefully will provide a bit more feel.
