Chatting to a bloke at work who has 2 sheep in a small field they own out the back of their house - keeps them as pets - pretty cool.
Anyhoo he said when they were looking at animals to get they looked at goats etc. but decided on sheep, when they went to chat to farmers and whatever to get more info they were told categorically by everyone to absolutely NOT get a male under any circumstances!! Get 2 females and be happy, a male will fuck your shit up on a regular basis.
Was a cool story.

Goats can be just as bad, and they get themselves into places you would not believe Smile

He should never have backed away from that animal though - bad move to let it think it's getting the upper hand.

We've had sheep and rams and have a ram now. They're not too bad if they are relaxed and happy but if they don't want to do what you want them to do then they are a bugger. You need to stay in close so they can't build up steam to headbutt you. The horns look scary but make them easier to handle as you can grab them. Females are a lot easier and nothing like as strong.

Seems harsh, but when the jungle brings its law to you, you better be ready to grab a femur and monkey-man up.

Bit of sheep knowledge would've saved him some hassle. Just flip it over. As soon as their hooves are off the ground and upside down they go into a little happy sheepy trance Very Happy Thumbs Up

I know fuck all about farming, but I've seen this done, works everytime as long as you're careful not to let the hooves touch the ground. Works with rabbits too, if you stroke them between the eyes.

This made me lol nig time, used to work on a farm that had a scotty ram like that and while getting them on their back can calm them its alot easier said than done with an animal that can weigh 90kg and is very strong, you need to know what you are doing or you will be hurt. Kinda suprised he didn't hurt his arms/hands defending himself like he did

It was asking for a boot in the snout at 1.25. If it had done that to me I'd have given it something to think about.

I fucking hate sheep. I got chased by about 30 of the fuckers when out on my mountain bike. My Avatar is a picture of a small group of them when I got far enough out of the way for them to stop running at me. Cunts.
