So I got a parking ticket today, for parking on a single yellow line. The ticket says I parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours. There were no signs about to show the hours, the only signs on the road are one that shows no parking for coaches & lorries overnight (which I think applied to the double yellow opposite), & some signs for the bay parking further down the street.

I think I should contest it, on the grounds I'm not psychic, & that there were no signs telling me I couldn't park there. Also I didn't take a photo, but the b***h... I mean fine parking enforcement officer did, should I of done? What supporting evidence can/should I include? Also it was in Islington, I believe if I appeal it freezes the fine, so I won't have to pay £130 if I lose (the £65/14 days will apply thereafter).

Cheers for any advice
Was it in a Controlled Parking Zone? If it was then the times that apply to the single yellow lines will be on the entry points to the zones.

This means if you can find a missing entry sign then you can appeal on the grounds that you entered the zone at that point.

Checked earlier & it's. Had a quick look on Google street view & there aren't signs where I entered the zone, will have a proper look tomorrow. I've sent off my appeal, but I'll take some pictures incase I need them.
Where were you ticketed, I'll have a look on GSV and see if there is anything obvious to use as grounds for appeal.

It looks like the parking attendant didn't enter it correctly into their notebook, and because of this was cancelled - I'd expect some form of correspondance at some point

Congratulations on both counts Very Happy

I didn't use bus lanes where I live until I discovered an FOI response from my local council stating most of the bus lanes along my commute don't have cameras and the ones that do, they aren't even switched on Very Happy Very Happy
