 |

So I got a parking ticket today, for parking on a single yellow line. The ticket says I parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours. There were no signs about to show the hours, the only signs on the road are one that shows no parking for coaches & lorries overnight (which I think applied to the double yellow opposite), & some signs for the bay parking further down the street.
I think I should contest it, on the grounds I'm not psychic, & that there were no signs telling me I couldn't park there. Also I didn't take a photo, but the b***h... I mean fine parking enforcement officer did, should I of done? What supporting evidence can/should I include? Also it was in Islington, I believe if I appeal it freezes the fine, so I won't have to pay £130 if I lose (the £65/14 days will apply thereafter).
Cheers for any advice ____________________ Yamaha MT-03 '08 (crashed)

Checked earlier & it's. Had a quick look on Google street view & there aren't signs where I entered the zone, will have a proper look tomorrow. I've sent off my appeal, but I'll take some pictures incase I need them. ____________________ Yamaha MT-03 '08 (crashed)

Err... does anyone on here speak traffic warden? It's nearly 28 days since I got the ticket, so I logged in to the parking ticket history thing & it now has this:
9/9/2013 11:12 AM - PA error - incorrect or insufficient pocket book entries
9/9/2013 11:12 AM Contact added
9/9/2013 11:12 AM Pre NTO Correspondence
9/9/2013 11:12 AM Off hold no compensate
9/9/2013 11:13 AM Ticket address added
9/9/2013 11:23 AM A Reg 9 Informal Cancellation
9/9/2013 11:24 AM Contact added
Should I be getting excited over the word cancellation, or not?
Also I didn't realise they upload pictures, one of them has me standing by the bike removing the ticket ____________________ Yamaha MT-03 '08 (crashed)

You were right. Got an email today saying they cancelled the ticket as the evidence submitted by the traffic warden (or civil enforcment officer?) was incomplete. They stated where the nearest controlled parking zone signs were, but that wasn't the way I entered They also gave me an address if I have concerns regarding signage & want them to be addressed. Don't think I'll be wasting anymore time on those ar$eholes somehow.
Bike also passed its MOT today, however on the way I rode down a bus lane motorbikes aren't allowed in, which had a camera so might have something else coming
EDIT: just checked on streetview, think it was a speed camera so hopefully I'm good! ____________________ Yamaha MT-03 '08 (crashed)

Congratulations on both counts
I didn't use bus lanes where I live until I discovered an FOI response from my local council stating most of the bus lanes along my commute don't have cameras and the ones that do, they aren't even switched on ____________________ Current: '99 Fazer 600 | '99 Range Rover P38 4.6 HSE

I'd be quite pleased with that outcome if it were myself.
