What sort of budget/style bike are you after.

CG would be the obvious recommendation for budget/useability, but doesn't score high in the looks-book Rolling Eyes

Had the Keeway Speed, not too shabby actually, surprisingly robust.

Also had the Cityfly, alright bike, on par performance with the chinese bike Thumbs Up

Keeway are based in Taiwan, not mainland China. I've seen a fair number of oldish ones still tootling around, which is a good sign.

Insurance and parts would be my main consideration. CMPO.co.uk don't list the Speed, so you'll be going cap in hand to dealers or breakers.

CG125, Good chain and lock for when parked in a city centre; even if the city centre is extremely low crime. Solid bike, decent mileage and loads of parts available.

NOOOOOOO I had a CPI, which was Taiwanese. It was about as well made as one of those chituma things, but for 3 times the price. I got my money back when the front brake fell off.

i had one and rode it all through last winter and i was more than impressed it never missed a beat etc however the exhaust was made of god knows what as even though i hadn't treated it and it was kind of my own fault it turned to rust incredibly quickly..... Other than that it was a great little commuter bike.
