Dear fellow bike-lovers,

First of all, this is my first post on this forum, so I apologise for any wrongly placed or formulated questions.

My issue is the following. I have found a bike of my dreams, the 1985 Honda Nighthawk 650. At least, that is the way it is advertised.
Upon inspection of the pictures, I cannot see the 'Nighthawk' logo on the side, and - as far as my unexperienced eye can see - the engine looks like a SOHC rather than a DOHC, which would place the year of production before 1985.

Can anybody confirm any of this, or at least take a look?
Thanks in advance, a lot!

Cheers,
Jacco

The engine looks more like the older CB650 to me. I'm not really much of a Honda geek, though.

I have no idea if it's a Nighthawk, but that is one nice looking bike.

The guy did sound trustworthy though, I'm just not sure he knows for sure what the year of production is.

The difference in engine and transmission would make a huge difference for me though. I think I'll just try to find another one...

I'm sure he did sound trustworthy, as do they all. I have a permanent mistrust of private ads, not just for bikes. maybe its just me Neutral
Annoying though, when as you said its the bike of your dreams.

Looks like the 650 Nighthawk Honda used to sell here in the early 80s. The wheels and the SOHC engine also look early 80s.
