Well, it's more good news, and further evidence that softroad-stylee bikes are what all the cool kids are getting these days. Wink

For those keeping score, Triumph are outselling BMW by 5323 to 4059 so far this year. Take that, Jerry-Fritz-Bosch-Hun. Hand

Quite suprising that 8 of the 10 are bike manufacturers as opposed to scooter (Piaggio) and chinese (Lexmoto).

OK, it's summer, but even so those sales are pretty reasonable.

Looked at one when I was looking for a bike earlier in the month. Honda dealer near me had a gorgeous matt black one.

I wont say I want tempted...

I suspect Yamaha haven't done themselves any favours by increasing their stock requirements in order to become a 'proper' dealer for them. You can be a 'Dealer lite' but you don't need to actually stock any bikes for that, you just order in.

I know for a fact that they lost at least one sale this month because of it.

11/12 increase was probably* people rushing to beat the new rules.

We definitely saw that, the DSA put out interim figures this year that showed a sharp rise before January 19th and then a flatline afterwards.

I hope they've bounced back, or this is going to be a real short recovery. Okay, hit it!

Is it coincidence that the number 'soft-road' bikes has increased as the country's roads have got worse? Or is the UK just generally catching up to Europe and no longer being all about sports bikes.

I recently swapped an Aprilia Falco for a BMW F650 Dakar. The Falco is by far the better build bike, but the Dakar trumps it in all the areas that I actually need. Miss the power and handling of the Falco though.

Bigger wheels and softer, longer travel suspension were a genuine consideration for me. The roads round my locale are disintegrating faster than they can (or will) patch them.
