Afternoon all,

Anyone remember a few weeks back that Hein Gericke were selling the Shoei Qwest for £250.

Well was going to pick one up this weekend but it seems the price has gone back to £289.

Anyone got proof it was on sale as I deleted my email.

Cheers

Doesn't matter even if it was on sale. It's not any more, they don't have a requirement to match the price.

If you get it, fair play. Just don't be one of those people that kicks off if you don't. Thumbs Up

It's Hein Gericke, I doubt you could persuade them not to give you a discount at the till if you held a gun to their heads. Very Happy

This is true. I was once about to spend something like £140, but they said if I spend over £150 I would get £30 off.. so I chucked in a cleaning kit and ended up getting more stuff for less Laughing

Nothing's to say that what you think might be happening to the helmets (mistreatment etc) from an online shop might also be happening behind the doors in the stockroom at HG, or any other physical shop.

Jus' sayin.

Am now very tempted with this, but how comes its so much cheaper than even the basic black one? Is it too good to be true? Confused

How do you think the helmets get to the shop?

No different from how they'd get to your house.

Yup.

If you value your head, don't crash in it! Very Happy

My only issue with buying online is trying the item on. I feel like a nob if I try an item on in a shop and then buy it online.

Not sure I'd buy one again. I've had mine for just over 2 years and it's very comfy and very light but also loud.
Initially when its on, the sound proofing seems brilliant, but for some reason it generates a lot of wind noise above 50mph. Spoke to another BCF'er who also thought the same thing. His HJC lid was half the price, came with a sun visor and was much quieter when over 50mph.

completely agree with this. The lid is great part from very high pitch whistle from the vents above 50mph. I'll keep my lid for another year or so and then get a schuberth I think.

Keep an eye on msgbikegear_ltd on eBay. They occasionally do limited time % discounts on helmets, Shoei included. And not just on discontinued colours or niche sizes.

I picked up a black XR1100 with 20% discount on RRP and a free genuine Shoei light tint visor (£45 on it's own). Total cost was £263 for something that would have been £365 at RRP. I thought that was a pretty good deal.

I've a Shoei XR1000(yip it's old, hence searching for new lid!!) and I've the same issue re noise. Even with plugs it's annoying. I haven't tried arai/shark etc, but if I where to stick to Shoei what would I go for. Not convinced re internal sun visor. Quite(r) with good vis would be good.
