That Strange Sized Axle

I've got two boxes full of allen keys, one metric the other Imperial but not one key fits this spindle. Am I missing something? Apart from the right size key that is? Looks like the wheels are made by Formula.

Vincent, don't want to state the obvious here, but have you realised that the socket has only 5 sides?

Allen keys are 6 sided so will never fit.

I'm guessing you will need a specilised tool to fit the polygon shaped socket.

Yes mate, I've tried all the five-sided keys I have too, and a bunch of five sided screwdriver bits - still no luck. It's the type of special key and where I might be able to get one that I need to know really. 'Can't seem to find anything about them online.

that is whats known as a security skewer looks like its an ETC security skewer going by the double ring on the outside there is indeed a specific tool and most good local bike shops should have a spare

or ... if you have a halfords professional socket set smash a torx bit in there with a hammer and undo it and then go to halfords for your replacement torx bit (it just snapped ... dont know why )

Stuff some plasticine in there for a pattern and cut one with a 5" grinder in 10 minutes.
