That store is pretty dire tbh. Went in there once. Bikes weren't even cleaned properly and way overpriced. Would be careful but I'm just a sceptic.

If you've had experience with proper motocross bikes and the like - then this is nothing like it.

Have you checked it's not just a re-badged cheap Chinese bike?

If it's not, you're basically buying a less reliable cg125 on stilts.

Note that the same place sells a higher spec (though still going to be very slow) 125 for 50% more money.
The 'higher spec' one will probably still be slower than an MZ125 (4 stroke) you can pick up for £700.

I love the way the expensive one gets:
"As standard the MRT Pro comes with special edition graphics".

Those brands are mentioned in the more expensive 4 valve one, but nothing like that mentioned for the cheap 2 valve.

Either way, wouldnt dick about with the old twin valve motors. Go for the current generation & you'll be pleasantly suprised - they realy have kicked the quality up scince getting their mits on the new four valve engines.

Plus, you've gotta admire any company who dont fuck about making fancy slow motion video's & instead give someone a gopro & say "go nuts." for a promo vid.

Ah, see that's gotta be some serious old stock then, they phased that motor out in 2010!

They ran a YBR engine in the RS2 & a couple of others, then chucked it into the tango as a budget option whilst putting the four valve YZF motor in the premium models.

Hence why so cheap. It's before Rieju started trying to break through as a serious company.

He could get the above bikes, but not new & given you're getting the same bits & quality as the current gen yamahas at £4500+ suddenly £3300 doesnt seem so so bad? Especially when you buy the supermoto & get a set of offroad wheels w/tyres, and discs, and sprocket carrier, and sprocket for that bit of greenlaning.

Just because it's less than another big number doesn't make a good deal for me!

Compared to getting a YBR (or CBR125, say), a KTM125EXC and passing your test, I think it offers terrible value.
With that option, the bikes bought will barely devalue.

I can see the point in spending more on a big sports bike, say.
You do get more bike for your money if you spend £3300 rather than £2200. Hell, even buying new if you've got the money may make sense - as you're getting something not available second hand.

As it is, a MZ125 with similar spec are available for a fraction of the price secondhand.

For a full on enduro sure, but for road use? C'mon. It's also illegal to ride on his licence & expensive to maintain. Even if he passes his test he still cant legally ride it cause of the power output!

I'm not saying that buying a brand new bike is an awesome idea, the depreciation sickens me & i doubt i'll ever buy a new bike.

What i'm getting at is as a brand new bike it's probbably the best bang for buck as far as new four stroke supermoto's go. It's proven reliable engine, has more power than the competition & better specced. I'm not arguing that that's what he should get! God no. Just stating they're pretty cool for what they are & not chineese tat

Personally given the budget i'd have a mint late model DT125 with a load of fancy bits bolted on & fuck the rieju off out of it
