Hi guys.. i have been looking for a sterdy, reliable 125 for my commute to work for a while now.
Not many Honda CG's have come up in this area which was my first choice but i have found a nice Suzuki GS 125 nearby. Mileage isnt bad, condition looks good for a 1992 model. Parts are fairly easy to find. But i dont know anyone who has owned one of these bikes. Being a suzuki i assume reliable is ok.. but does anyone have any info it? Pros, cons, economy, speed (not an issue really), faults etc..
Any help is appreciated..
Thanks
Dan

No real experience with this model but Suzukis of this time (90's) were pretty bulletproof mechanically just keep an eye on fasteners and general nuts and bolts. They will corrode if someone in the next county mentions rain.

Yeah if i get the bike for fairly cheap then i will invest in new nuts and bolts. Is there anything i can use on the chrome to make it last longer?

Just clean it regularly and change bolts and such on condition. That's the best way. Use copper grease on the threads so they don't corrode in. I had 2 engine bolts snap on a 5 year old GSXR because the previous owner forgot to do that. Was able to solve it with a bit of drilling but prevention is better than cure. Also the more out of sight bolts would do well to be cleaned dried then given a lick of hammerite to keep the crud off.
