When i tuck my trousers into my boots- i can't do them up properly. I can't leave them dangling on the putside either. Will i literally have to tape the bottoms to my leg????Jees..........

If they're textile trousers, they usually have velcro straps so you can put them tight around the outside of the boot. If they're leathers, they're normally tight enough that they will only go inside the boot. Even then, leathers have velcro/ zips at the bottom of the legs?

You could get some strong elastic and just whack that around them to stop them flapping in the wind (like bicycle clips). You could possibly attach some kind of velcro arrangement to tighten them. Or you could just get used to them flapping about.

Are they textiles or leather?

I've just had the same problem. Just got a new set of leathers and a pair of Sidi's. I couldn't do my boots up with the trousers all the way down. The problem was at the ankle.
Best way I found was to keep the bottom of the trousers just above the ankle and the zip now comes up ok (ish)

Or you could try tucking the trousers into your socks.

My textiles go velcrowed over the boot, with my trousers below them tucked in. Tuck my leathers in and put my jeans over the top.

Same problem as me - my leathers were going over my ankle and the pair of Alpinestars i had werent comfortable. Once i folded the leathers up by about and inch they would go on and were fairly comfortable.

Not spending £180 on fairly comfortable though.

Oh im a rugby player - chubby ass, chubby ankles - comes with the territory I suppose Razz

Your leathers might just reach your ankles when you're standing up straight, but you'll be crouched up a bit on the bike so you need to yank them up a bit before putting your boots on anyway.

If they're way too long with too much fabric to get inside your boot, just get some really sharp scissors and cut a bit off - it's leather so it's not going to need a hem or anything. I took about three inches off mine and don't have the problem any more.

On your leathers did you have a zip at the bottom? If so what did you do about it??

Might even taken them to a tailor to see how much theyll charge for taking them up a bit Idea

I had the same problem too. My leathers had a zip right to the bottom. I took them to a tailor who specialised in leather stuff and got about 2, maybe 3 inches off them. Problem solved. Thumbs Up

If memory serves me right, I think it cost around 40 quid for the alterations. A bit dear but the leather trouser cost me 175 quid so I thought they were worth getting fixed.

They had them for a week cause I'm only home at the weekends to collect them. How long it took them, I don't know.

Just cut the zip short as well, then sew on a bit to stop the zipper coming off the end.

I didn't need to undo the zip to get mine on, so I just sewed the zip shut.

It's annoying for me when putting on my textile trousers as well as in the dry I like to tuck them in. It's kind of disappointing that my Sidi boots are only fastened up by velcro.

Oni, the shop is on the High Street in Glasgow, I couldn't see a street number for the shop. The sign above the shop just says ALTERATION TAILORS, I think. The number is 01415528743.

They do a lot of bike clothing alterations. It was actually Hein Gericke that recommended them to me.
