I am trying to look for a reasonably priced 125. I found a 2006 Suzuki En125 with under 10,000 miles on it online for 695 pounds, but my granddad thinks he can get him down to 550 pounds because its MOT and tax is about to run out and the battery side cover was stolen. but after adding my budget up, i am not sure if i can afford it after insurance wants their deposit and tax and all that. best case scenario is i get out for 650 pounds after all the expenses of the bike have been covered. IF he goes for the 550 pounds. worst case is its going to cost me 745 pounds.
Any advice for a new biker?

I am in UK btw, I have an american computer so don't have a pound sign. sorry Rolling Eyes Question Question

Looks clean and a running 125 for <£700 is good.

Also.. to insert the £ sign, hold the Alt button then press 0163 then release the Alt button
Note: don't press all numbers at one, but one after the other Thumbs Up

£500 is scraping the barel money for almost ANY 125 that's ride-away ready with some tax & test on it.

£550 for something with a Japanese name on the tank?

Under twenty years old?!?!?

Unless its absolutely falling to bits, mate that sounds like a bargain.

And if you cant afford THAT.... then I doubt you can afford any bike.

EN125 is a grey import, parts availability isn't great, and screw blowing your entire budget on a bike where the MOT is about to run out unless you're certain that it will pass or that you have the resources to sort it out.

Paying insurance monthly is also a mug's game, you're borrowing the premium and will have to pay it off in full regardless of whether you keep the bike.

Not the answer you wanted, but if you want to do everything legal and above board with a comfort zone for sorting problems then you're looking at £1K or a very lucky purchase.
