Has anybody come across this requirement before?I found it while reading the following on page 3 of this AA pdf file

https://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/touring_tips/france-monaco.pdf

The size and shape seems quite large and is possible to do.But has anyone ever been fined by froggy plod for not following this requirement?

Can't find it right now, but there was a thread a while back on this. Marmalade making up stickers for it, etc.

I've never known anyone be done for not having a bike restricted but it's still done by most people.

The French are quite pissed with this law it would seem after speaking to several during various trips.

stickers available here, with a choice of size and colour

Their idea is that it will make you visible at night after you've fallen off your bike and landed on the road.

You know, like when you just fall off the back of your bike randomly and lay in the road.

Their last one which has now been booted was reflective clothing/hi-vis that was to be worn by all riders except those most likely to crash - those on mopeds and up to 125cc bikes. Rolling Eyes

I think its all a bit up in the air at the moment. I don't have one on my helmet. But on the other hand I wear a full day glow jacket. Hell if they can't see me in that. A helmet sticker is not going to be much use.

Didn't see anyone in France last week with reflective stickers on their helmets and more specifically I didn't see any cops checking helmets. It's just more bullshit legislation that seems to be largely ignored. Wink

They are meant to be.

I always see people with the stickers on, must be different areas.

Wasn't a complaint, I was aware of the stickiness before I put them on.

Tbf I didn't see many brits, the Swiss and locals didn't seem to bother.

I 100% agree. I wrote up a rant about this on here...

Having lived in France for a few years, I probably have a different perspective.
