Can anybody enlighten me on how to remove a Honda decal off the side of my tank ass it seems it was added and not original. It's out of sync with the other side and seems to be a lot thicker (like rubber) but mostly my rucking magnetic tank bag won't magnetise through it, I would also like it not to damage the paintwork if possible.
Many thanks in advance

I've had success removing sticky things using a hair dryer (to heat the glue) and then using dental floss or a credit card to get under what's sticky.

Use a heat gun or a hair dryer, make sure you don't use the heat gun to close as it may take for off more than the decal Wink

Handy tip: heat a big area of the decal you want to come off, it's so much easier if you spend that extra time heating a big area than picking individual bit of decal off.

Once you've got it off with the hair dryer a rub with petrol will take off the remaining glue. Thumbs Up

Step 1 Put hair drier somewhere you can't slosh petrol over it. Smile

Tried to FTFY. Thumbs Up

Wotcha.

I removed the decals from the tank of my Drifter by using fairly thick fishing line as a "saw" between the tank and the decal - got the remains of the sticky stuff off with carb cleaner.

Hair dryer as mentioned and then residual glue can be easily removed with brake cleaner. Smile

Warm it up for the love of god,
it softens up the glue so the decal come off easier...
I could not be arsed a while back whilst taking some decals off some honda fairings and the paint just pinnged off with it...
Bad times... Resulted in so much more sanding 'Sighs'

Id be cautious with tank decals some like my zx6s are lacquered on and can make a mess of the paint you try remove them incorrectly. If its a standard decal hair dryer, nail and slow steady peeling will prevail. Then adhesive remover to remove the residual muck.

i took my stickers off my little fairings with a hairdryer and patience

Go over the whole sticker with a hair dryer and then slowly peel it off while still blowing the hair dryer over the sticker and it should come off easily... as for my tank, the decals were lacquered over so now i have an odd looking bike Sad
