Anybody here going to Creamfields this weekend?

If I manage to find my way onto the site I'll probably be too off my face to make any effort towards being sociable but nonetheless Very Happy

I'll be there, wish I was seeing Biffy and System at Leeds Fest but Creamfields will be amazing nonetheless!

Aye was having a bit of a toss up between the two with NIN, Skindred & Green Day at Leeds but Prodigy wins over all of them for me Thumbs Up

I live near this shithole.

I hate it.

As if Runcorn needs more scally druggies than it already does.

I'm just far enough away for it not to bother me except all the bloody signs for it.

My nephew has gone with his chums.

Me too, I'm down by the Weston Point Docks but I see the signs for it everywhere.

Didn't somebody die there a few years ago?

Can't think of anything worse.

Creamfields used to be a fucking blast when it was in Speke. I went many years on the trot and loved it. I did 2 years at Daresbury and hated both, the second much more than the first.

You used to turn up in Speke at 3pm and leave at 6am, job done. Then they got greedy, sold the land to developers and moved to Daresbury. Then they decided to make it a camping event and split it over 2/3 days, as well as all the best acts.

Want to hear Armin and Carl Cox? No problem, either buy a camping ticket at an astronomical price, including having to sleep in a fucking field or buy two separate day tickets and twice the expense. Good luck trying to find a hotel within a 20 mile radius as well.

I could've fucked off to a tropical destination for a week the money it cost to do 2 days there, travel, food, drinks, admission, etc.

Then add to all that, the "lids" and "kiddas" who stroll round in gangs of 20/30 all in moody black North Face gear, looking for trouble and not out for having a good time, the only thing missing is their pitbulls which they were told "not tonight mate" to the dogs on entry.

Last time I went was 2008 but I have friends who I used to go with, who still go (and will be there now) who say the same old shit is still going on.

Not to mention the flooding fiasco last year but apparently they've spent 1/2 million on drainage since last year.

Go somewhere good, like Global Gathering instead Thumbs Up

It's the big names that pull in the mindless nobs.

"Ey lad, going to see Tiesto innit kidda" - Probably never even seen him live before and just going because they recognise the name.

Nothing even wrong with that if you're a normal person but it attracts the dregs of society Creamfields.

Forgot to mention the total thievery that goes on in the camp site too, unless you brought an actual fucking safe with you, good luck with that whilst you're all off getting fucked, whilst simultaneously being fucked at the same time, just blissfully un-aware.

I think it's safe to say, I don't like Creamfields Laughing

I looked at the site the other day. There are some decent individuals playing, but by God it will be full of cunts.

I went in 2002 and it was good, for 16 hours, the current setup just does not appeal at all.

Perhaps Moxey can enlighten us on the drug situation when he returns to civilisation..... Laughing

Despite tenner pills, amphetamine & ridiculously expensive alcohol I survived the ordeal, was nice to see Prodigy live but missed a lot of acts on the Sat with marshals shifting us & a few others tents Mad

Saw Jaguar Skills, Shy FX & Modestep on the Sunday and decided to fob off Tiesto & Guetta for Sub Focus at the suggestion of the lass & got no regrets about that, was pretty good Very Happy.

Drugs were pretty abundant, laughed when some little blonde shouted "anybody want some mcat" right as the fuzz walked past & not an eyelid was batted, brought plenty of gear already so didn't sample anything.

It was an average do overall, certainly don't think it was worth £160, lot of radgys around too so didn't feel all to comfortable with getting wrecked and or leaving anything valuable in the tent, think it will be a one off for me, the missus was saying how much better Global is so think that’ll be on the cards next year instead.

Aftermath (found a whole crate of Carling in that mess Very Happy)

What was the security like on the gate? I went to Boomtown couple of weeks back and they were on total overkill - sniffer dogs and the lot.

EDIT:
I think overseas is the way to go now, tbh. Kazantip looks absolutely amazing, anyone who is anyone plays there, great weather and an apparently decent location. The possible presence of russian mafia may be a concern, however!!

Went Cloud 9 VIP at Global this year, so nice to have a nice, clean and (relatively) peaceful tented area, which was pretty safe and secure too. Showers and plumbed toilets made it worthwhile.

I would probably only ever go full on VIP, massive bell tents with inflatable mattresses now, lot of cash, but it's only once a year...

Would love to give Tomorrowland a go at some point!

Ballcocks tae thiefields 'tis a den o cnuts, since it moved from Speke Sad Beatherder has 90% less cnuts, vagabonds and scallies and the tickets are only about a hundred quid for the whole shebang and ye can take yer own ale in the main shebang as long as it isn't in a glass bottle. Not allowed camp fires tho. Thumbs Down

https://beatherder.co.uk/

Solfest was a bit too twee, pretentious, middle class, annoying students and hooray Henry fer a miserable bugger like me. Kendal Calling was alright tho.

I know, could easily think of many other things I would rather have gone to or done was more for the lass than me.

Wish I had pushed for us to go to Leeds Fest now having just realised that Modestep & Sub Focus were there too and I could have gone to Green Day & Gallows Evil or Very Mad

*@DOG yeah the security was overkill compared to what I'm used to, sniffer dogs (shit ones at that) and about 30 coppers at the entrance, on the Sunday saw a guy handcuffed & face down in the back of a Police workmax

I think sniffer dogs get all 'out of smell' after a while, I saw Pablo Escobar walk right past one and nothing happened.
