I was noobing to work this morning on my first rainy ride, and I got terribly foggy. I'd been expecting this from reading about, but I was surprised at how wet it got in there.

From reading about it seems I have 4 options: pinlock, fog city films, anti fog spray, or biggles goggles. Smile

So I thought I'd try my hand at a poll to see how you guys feel. Vote away, and do let me have your thoughts.

Thanks for all the input guys. Us noobs love it! Thumbs Up

Pinlock is a must on any helmet, I borrowed a lid recently with no pinlock and it was a PITA

Use what the racers use. Pinlock.

It isn't infallible in extreme temperature changes.

I have a pinlock on my new helmet, but used Rainex anti-fog on my old visor. Both work really well, although I get a slight 'dazzle' effect from lights at night time with my pinlock. Not so with the rainex.

Pinlock.

Sod any fart-arse sprays, just use a pinlock. Just don't scratch it.

Pin lock is the easiest, although if you're not riding in rain often popping it open a crack will do the job, but depending on the helmet/speed you're riding at it can lead to unbearable whistling and/or a horrible blast of air hitting your eyes Rolling Eyes

The fog sprays do sometimes work, but its just not worth the hassle spraying it, and over time you'll pay way more than you'll spend on the pin lock anyway Thumbs Up

Fog City inserts can work, but get a Fog City branded one and be very careful fitting it.

Pinlock is better, I wouldn't get a visor that wasn't pinlock ready now.

doesnt look like they do pinlock for viper brands? Is fogcity universal ones any good?

Edit: Seen the replies above. Is there a pinlock for viper helmets?

Edit: I can see there is a universal one. Smile

Foggy mask keeps breath off of glasses too. With just that visor stays down and locked all ride. Pinlocked visor comes out when it's cold. Don't like using it after dark.

This. Plus also, take your own life and let your corpse cool down - because on really cold mornings even the warmth from your skin can cause condensation.

Anyway, whatever. We all have our preferred methods - and I'm not one to push my own practices onto others. I'm simply saying what works for me.

Foggy mask.

It deflects your breath downwards rather than on to the visor.

The only time I've ever had a problem with my visor fogging up is if I close it right from the off, if I leave it open a couple of minutes then close it I don't have much at all if there's any.

I've got a lid with the new Pinlock 100% Max or whatever it's called and it's superb. Don't know how I lived without it. So glad I spent the extra £20

Cheers. I'll give mine another go. I tried it once and didn't like how it restricted my vision. Only a little, but enough to make me not want to.

I have so much manning up to do!

Think of it more as womanning down. It doesn't seem quite so onerous then. Works for me anyway.
