What do you think of this bike?

Trying to find out more info on the release date and price but I can't seem to find anything other than speculation.

Original teaser video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h1e9oulMd8

Goodwood footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voj0DorPsr4

Looks like it's an absolute animal, judging by the way it wobbles everywhere out of the corners.

The production bike is going to look like this:

https://s4.visordown.com/uploads/images/large/57014.jpg

THey're also making a hideous American version:

https://www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/KTM-1290-Super-Duke-R-Patriot-Edition-derestricted-Piers-SP-05.jpg

I'm considering hanging on for this "beast" and getting one, even if I have to sell my soul.

Rear ends too stumpy. It's all I can see when I look at it. Bar that though, looks awesome. I kinda like the American colours. A bit too 'look at me' though.

It was pretty inevitable that they'd make it sooner or later, not read the bits about it but based around the engine of the RC8 surely? Seems pretty par for the course these days, make a superbike then strip the fairing off and release a new model a couple of years down the line.

RSV/RS4 -> Tuono

Ducati 848 -> Streetfighter

Still no doubt it will be fun to ride.

Going to be an animal. Either going to grab one for a 4 hour test ride or smash a deposit on one, depending on my mood... I want it modded to the original photo though... Laughing

The prototype looks great. Thumbs Up
If only they could use the same exhaust for the production version. Thumbs Down

I read somewhere that the entire philosophy of this bike, was to have usable monster torque.

I also remember reading that they plan for it to make upwards of 100ft/lbs.

If true. Amazing.

It's nice but it'll cost a fortune and so will the accessories. I think a full akra system for an RC8 is something daft like £1,500, so I dread to think what it'll cost on this bike.

Remove exhaust headers, embrace the noise, costs £0 and you can sell the stock system Laughing

The special project looks and sounds awesome. Unfortunately the road going bike won't be much like it. Crying or Very sad

Normally I wouldn't even think about buying a brand new bike, as you just lose money on it straight away but I think this could be an exception.

How hard to you think it would be to get an exhaust setup like the prototype? Custom job?

Aside from the exhaust and the WP suspension (about £5k I believe), most of it looks the same. Has a seat cowl on the back as well, which I'm sure wouldn't be hard to get hold of.

I want the lack of seat, lairy cans and just basically how it is as a prototype. Skimp on the suspension if they really want, I couldn't care. Laughing

Problem is... they'll never do it, purely because it won't sell as much and they won't get the asking price.

£15k is S1000RR money. Faster, probably far more trick bits etc.

I reckon if they keep a tarted one for sale, you'd get fuck heads like me wanting one and buying one.

Crazy lack of seat, you don't need a seat doing a stand up wheelie.

Mental exhaust, because dat noise.

Garish paint job, just because!

KTM have it right in the prototype. So many people go through many prototypes to find the right one... this is right from the word go. Now they want to fuck it up Laughing

If I wanted comfortable, smooth and sensible, I'd grab a CBR600F or something. I want an arsehole of a bike. This is the one.
