Why stay just one night?
You turn up, fed up of riding because of the long and boring motorways. Set up camp. You have an afternoon to kill, have some fun. However you have to head off to bed early to be up in time to pack up before chuck out time in the morning and then ride back?
I'd personally want at least 2 nights, otherwise I think it'd be a bit pointless. That's just me though.
That said, motorways are extremely easy riding. Doing more than 40 miles on motorway is absolutely no hardship on anything but your arse and boredom levels. It certainly will not be interesting ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |

I've ridden from London to Cornwall and back again in the same day. Completely doable. The primary limit will be your own discomfort.

I think motorways are fun! I saw James May in a TVR a few weeks ago on the M5, and years ago I saw the whole cast of High school Musical in their tour bus
As long as you all think it is perfectly doable, i'm happy. Weather it's fun or not is another matter...If it's dull I can entertain myself by shouting abuse at my mate through the intercom on the way |

Just yes, piece of cake but why not go somewhere a bit closer and make it worthwhile, make Penzance a trip for when you have more time, there is lots to see and do and making this one a first long trip you'll end up doing nothing but riding, sleeping in a tent and riding home. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? It seems it was actually a blessing in disguise that I couldn't go to Cornwall. Had a great time in Wales...went on the horseshoe pass, then on some twisty roads to Bangor, then went on some amazing roads in Snowdinia
My neck and right wrist ached a bit on the Motorway though |
