Keep on at it, I had major difficulty on the slow speed stuff until I realised where I was going wrong.
My trottle control was not the best, so ended up being very jerky, breaking on the fron and losing the balance hence foot taps and all.
I was used to the 125, which had much less power and throttle response in 1st and much easier to control.
With the 600 I was on to do the DAS, obviously the accelleration was much harsher than Iwas used to, leading to my issues.
The way I found around it (not saying that this'll work for everyone), is to do the slow speed stuff in SECOND gear.
The torque of the bike is good enough to pull away, but at a much smoother rate, giving me better control.
Rather than relying on front brake, I used the method of slightly dragging the rear to control the speed.
With these two bits of simple alteration to my riding style, it was a breeze, slalom, fig 8, U turn, slow ride, all went great.
Like I said, not the best way for everyone, but these worked for me and gave me confidence at slow speed and that was enough to give me the balance i needed.
Hope this helps and you fly through

"Some" people have been known to tweak the idle up a bit on the bike or leave a bit of choke on to raise the revs a bit on tick over leaving you to do everything on the clutch only.... I'm sure it's all just rumours though.... |

Tbh, as long as you are cool with the clutch, it should be fine.
Like I said, enough torque to pull through the low speed stuff, just don't do it on mod 2 as it is not the speediest take off, hence the easy slow speed control ____________________ 2002 Rieju RS2-50 (Sold, spares or repair), 2010 Suzuki DR-125SM (Traded for ->), 2007 Honda CBF 600 (Sold), 2010 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 (Briefly, now returned), 2007 Suzuki Intruder 1800m (Even More Briefly, traded in for ->), 2014 Suzuki V-Strom 650 |
