After having the 08 R1 stolen and then selling the 00 R1 i have returned back to an 04 R1 and have redone this R1 with The Lord of the Rings inscription over the bike.

The bike is wrapped in gloss black vinyl (£375) and i have had the wheels powder coated white (£80 both wheels)

I'm not sure about the LOTR stuff, to me LOTR is Harry Potter for nerds rather than kids, but at least it's subtle.

Was your stolen R1 a white bike with gold script? I remember seeing pictures of that and thinking it looked pretty sweet. Better on the black though Thumbs Up

Woah! Putting the thread up IS basically inviting people to let him know what they think. We all have opinions and I rejoice in the fact that we all like different things. I only gave mine and I was very clear that, above all, I think it's a very nice bike.

LOTR was written for teenagers/young adults.

The difference is that LOTR is NOT an easy read, and it shows the lack of literary knowledge in youngsters between then and now

I like the white wheels on black, black bike.

Not a fan of the LOTR script. I like the LOTR but I think it's a little naff and, the text is too small, spindly, and the colour gets lost in the black.

In my opinion, I think if you had it much bigger and had it swept across the fairings, gaps and all, it would look a lot better. If you want to display it why not display it rather than those tiny scrawls.

Also naming the bike Nazgul is almost as bad as "Kev and Trace" and "Powered by fairy dust" stickers on ned-mobils.

Also, writing dungeons and dragons shite on a perfectly good bike would get your balls cut off in some Arab countries. Say what you like about Sharia Law but it puts a stop to this type of nonsense.

This sounds like a familiar story to me.

How much better is the 04 models to the 00 version? I too had a 08 on nicked and now have a 01 version, but thought about getting back to the fuel injection models.
