Im looking at buying a set of one piece leathers, I tried a size 44 on in my local triumph dealer on and I have a few questions.

my local dealer said they are cut in such a way that they wont feel all that comfortable when stood upright, as they art designed to be the best fit when sat on a bike. When I sat on a daytona they fitted very well and didnt pull uncomfortably in any areas.

However when I get off the bike and stand upright I find that they pull on my crutch area a bit, is this normal? I have no experience of one piece leather suits but looking for advice on fitment.

A lot of the racier one-piece suits are designed to fit better in a "racing crouch" riding position. A Daytona is the ideal bike to sit on as an example because it has quite an aggressive riding position. You'll find it perfectly comfy to wear those leathers on the bike, but when you get off and stand up straight, you'll notice the difference.

Which is why people wearing one piece leathers look like they've shit themselves when they're walking around. Thumbs Up

lovely chaps, the suit was a great fit and made by alpinestars for triumph, they offered it to me for 500 notes down from 750, original price 1k..

I just cant make up my mind if a 1 piece in white, red and blue would look ok on a yellow speed four?

this suit https://www.psndealer.com/powersportsdlr/images/ec0256/M7953811.jpg

got a yellow s4 atm, but ultimate goal is to get a white daytona in future.

If you think it looks ok, just buy it. Doesn't matter what others think. Personally I think white would be an arse to keep looking clean. That's why I have black leathers, so you never have to clean them and they don't show the dirt. Thumbs Up

Nope, sounds accurate and perfectly feasible. Thumbs Up

Yes.

Definitely do not forget you're still wearing them at the end of the day at Snetterton and jump up to grab the pit garage roller door.
You won't be able to move for a few minutes and someone else will have to close the door.

That's a steal for anybody! Pretty much rebadged Alpinestars Tech-1R one pieces which retail for about £900. One tier from A*'s race replica suits and a bloody good suit at that.

With one pieces I find that if I unzip to to point where it exposes my boxers, it improves mobility by a comfortable margin.

Also, with onesies, my suggestion is to stick some base layers underneath it. My personal choice is Nike Combat Pros (only because there's a Nike Outlet very close to where I live). The reason for this will become apparent when you try and peel off your suit after a long ride, and even more so during a track day. Sweat and suit liners don't go hand in hand.

Don't think of colour mismatch... think of the bargain you just nailed on an A*'s suit!

I miss not being able to wear any of my one pieces though (I need to go up a size again since doing weight training)

when you get off the bike undo the zip, then you'll find it's a lot more comfortable when stood upright

One piece leathers make you walk like a cowboy who has recently shat his pants. They do ease up over time but pinch in all the wrong places when you stand up straight! Go for black or a much darker colour as white bike gear stays white for a surprisingly short amount of time.

As mentioned, you really need baselayers with leathers, believe it or not, baselayers will keep you cooler in summer too, as they'll wick away the sweat, cooling you down in the process. (Thicker thermal baselayers will keep you warm in winter too).

With my baselayers on, it means I can also leave my one piece unzipped until I'm just about to climb on the bike... (without losing too much modesty), so means I can walk around more comfortably, and stand up without cutting off the blood to the plums.

They do need to fit tight though when done up, otherwise they'll bunch up and you won't slide if you come off, you'll end up tumbling instead and that can cause more injuries.

And don't worry about colour not suiting, practicality & function over looks anyday.

If you can get them on and off over shoulders without dislocating anything they are probably about right regardless of any tightness in the gentleman's area.

They will give a bit over time in normal wear but no point getting them if you feel uncomfortable, two piece suits are far more practical for the road, and easy to wear.

Someone must have a terrible tale of trying to struggle out of a one piece suit while desperately needing to 'evacuate' due to a sudden onset squits session. Laughing
