Where in Surrey for Tire Change? - SV650

Hi,

I'm currently riding my bike back to the UK (in Germany at the moment), and noticed little green markers are appearing in the rear and front tire treads, so I imagine that's a warning to have them changed.

I'll hopefully be back in the UK tomorrow, and will be selling the bike in the next week or two. Firstly, do you think it's worth changing the tires or let the new owner sort that out?

And if so, what tires do you recommend and where is the best place to have them fitted on the go in Surrey (Farnborough way)?

PR3's is a stupid answer, if you are selling it on immediately buy whatever cheap used tyre with good tread left that you can find on ebay and pop that on it. Yes having good tread left on the tyres will help bring in the buyers, but splashing out hundreds on a top of the range sports touring tyres is throwing good money after bad. It's not like you wouldn't buy a second hand bike because you don't like the tyre it has fitted.

I'd just leave it for the next owner to change unless its illegally low.

Get a tread depth gauge down at halfords and check across the tyre to see how bad it is.

To me, if you can pick up a replacement set of tyres second had for not a lot of money then it may be worth it, if only to be able to say "good set of tyres" in the advert. Those words wont make enough money to pay off a set of PR3's, but knowing I have to spend £200 on new rubber the second I buy a new bike would certainly put me right off or have me haggling for money off.

Thanks for the responses. It's a bit of a catch 22. To be fair the tread looks good to me, but the green markers are showing which must be an indication. They are both Avon tires 55 and 56 I think and so far I haven't had a problem with them - the rear gets a little squirily in the wet but I think that's just my throttling.
