The size and weight of it are excellent. I only went for the 1.5m version, so I'm hoping that it's not too much of an issue wrapping the chain around street furniture. My previous chain must be around 1.8-2m.
Here it is pictured next to:
- unbranded heavy lifting chain with a CISA 75 Padlock (top chain, red sleeve)
- Oxford chain and padlock (bottom chain, black sleeve)

She's going to be protecting the Thundercat, whilst the red chain is reserved for divvy duty.

Money well spent I believe, even if my bank account still hates me. ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |

Top stuff. Yeah, not light, but anything less will only last seconds to a pair standard issue tea leaf 42" bolt croppers.
Just don't fling it over your shoulder! I lug a 2m 26mm Pragmasis chain (very similar to the Almax) in top box and it's fine. ____________________ Beginner Biker Adventures Blog

Almax were selling a chain with a Kriega tailpack, do they not do this anymore?
Just checked myself and no, they don't seem to.
We bought one when they did
anyhoo....
I've used the Almax and tailpack. It is really not an issue to have the pack with the chain strapped to the back of the bike. |

My tail pack is similar to this one:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oxford-2013-1st-Time-Tailpack-/400568013072?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5d43b6d110
Except made by Givi and cheaper.
I paid £50 for a full soft luggage kit... so panniers, tail pack, tank bag and cargo net.
It's a bit big and is slightly annoying because it attaches using bungees rather than strapping underseat, which basically means that if I leave it on the bike, it could be pinched easily.
I'm going to grab one with an underseat strap, or add an underseat strap, at some point, just so that is less easy to pinch and I can leave it on the bike 24/7. ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |
