Good afternoon everyone.

Was just wondering. My friends X8 odometer is in Kilometers, when reading it do you take into account the last digit if that makes sense.

his odometer says 33302 does that mean 33,302 or 3,330 and ignore the 2?

I hope that makes sense

normally the last digit is a different colour if it is NOT a representation of a full KM

If I had a KM speedo that says 15648 km, I'd turn that into miles and get 9723 miles.

If it had a smaller faster turning one as said, different colour usually, I'd forget it.

33302 km

You can guestimate by the age of the car. 12000 km/year.

So the car is possibly a 2010 (or a 2012 company mile cruncher)
Or hardly ever used to go very far and could be even older. Smile

If you watch the last digit (Extreme Right Hand) and drive about 100-200 metres the digit will count up if it is counting 10ths of a Km.

Write the current number down (all digits)

Go for a ride on a route which you know is 1km, or 10km etc.

Write down the number when you get back.

Should be easy enough to see from the change which digits mean what.

Sorry?

It can mean it has not been driven much/far/parked up/speedometer has been replaced/tamperfered with. Smile

I gestimated 12000KM / year which is not far off what Glass's found.

Yes... So ride it 10 more km and if the odometer then reads 33,312 then you now you are looking at 33k. Or it might read 33402 in which case you are looking at 3.3k....

If it's an 07 reg it's pretty likely to be nearer 33k than 3k!

I'm not sure if my points being missed I was just wondering how I should be reading the odometer it's in Kilometers it's a 2007 reg piaggio X8.

it's showing as 33302. should I read this as 33,302km or 3,330 and ignore that 2. As that's the one that counts to 1km

if that makes sense

If it's not a car then I can't help you. Embarassed

An 'odometer' will normally show 10ths of woteva in the last digit. (Right side)

Unless..... It also has a Trip Meter. They normally count up to 999.9 wotevas.

So because you have a 10ths counter on the trip meter the Odometer doesn't need it. 33030 is still 33030Km

That's 33,434.

If it was a higher resolution it would have the last digit in red, like on the trip meter.

That is 33,434kms, not 3,343.4 because the 4 at the end would be red like the trip counter at the bottom Thumbs Up

It is 33434 Kilometres

The Odometer does not have a tenths dial as it is provided on the trip meter.

Ignore the trip meter and read the Odometer as is says 33434 Kilometres.
