a month early will I lose out on a month or will the new tax start from the date the old one finishes?

The thing is I lost my old tax disc and have been pulled twice now and both times just about managed to talk myself out of getting a fine, sooner I get a new one the better Very Happy

The fucking criminal scum will pump you for failure to display. Although almost everything worthwhile is digital now.
I need a SORN but I can't put my hand on a V5. I have one but where is it. You need the document No. to SORN or buy tax. Nonsense if you ask me.
So I may have to buy a duplicate V5 off the arseholes just to SORN.

DVLA is so full of SUCK.

You can just use the number on the document they send you at renewal time. If you have that, you don't need the V5.

Aye... Ah know that.... Rolling Eyes

But I don't have the fecker..... Very Happy Very Happy

I am suggesting that since we get humped 'electronically' it is only fair and just that we should be able to 'comply' fully electronically and not put fire hoops in front of us.

And the reminder is a courtesy as the bastirts are always re-iterating if used as an excuse to 'forget' to buy tax.

The bottom line is, Road Tax needs to be fucking scrapped.
There would be no problem stuffing another 1/2 penny on a litre of petrol. (As the largest part of the cost of a litre is the TAX.) Then..... Any fecker who wants to use a vehicle on the road would only be able to do so if they buy fuel. And.... the more you use the road/the bigger your vehicle the more you pay.
Is there something wrong with my theory? I have not heard a valid argument against this yet.

I would even vote the Tories in if they agreed to scrap this fucking nonsense and stop the unnecessary hassle of 'decent law abiding' road users/public.
Hammering the defaulters harder (after the change) would balance the books/clean up our society. Smile

I agree. They could even bung another penny a litre on as a basic third party insurance cover. That way everyone hits the road taxed and insured.

Yes, there are problems with the insurance idea. For example, using an old shitter to write off an expensive yet problematic car for a mate.

If you're thinking about buying a new tax disk a month early, you should receive a reminder in a couple of weeks. I'd chance it for another 14 days.

One does not BUY tax, or BUY a tax disc.

One PAYS tax. Upon payment of taxation one then receives the proof-of-taxation disc. It remains the property of the state.

Anybody who says "Buy Tax" has been unwittingly brainwashed into believing they are buying goods or services, or getting anything at all in return for their money.
