Morning guys.

I need help!
Ive well and truly wrecked my carbtune to the state its gone in the bin, and I NEED to get my carbs synced this weekend.

The bike is running REALLY shite cause of this problem.

Is there anyone in the Northampton that can either do a biker a favor and lend me a set of gauges for an hour or that can come and help me for the price of a beer and a bacon buttie or two pleeeeeease?

If you can help, please PM me your number so we can sort something out.

Please don't suggest local garages, they all want stupidly high, 'take out a second mortgage' prices!

Thanks in advance.

Why would I let you borrow my equipment when you have managed to destroy your own?

bench sync them with a bit of welding wire or a small nail or something.

You will need to take the carbs off for this though, determine which carb is the control carb (the one that the throttle cable and tick over screw are on) then place the wire/nail/toothpick or what ever under the butterfly at the bottom and adjust the idle screw so that it just starts to drag/ squeeze the wire (or whatever)

Repeat this for the remaining carbs by adjusting the sync screws until all the carbs have similar drag on the wire this will set as near an identical gap between the butterfly and the carb throat as you can get.

Snap the throttle shut a few times to settle everything and recheck, job done do your self the bacon butty

That is not what balancing with vaccuum does. You tailor the individual throttle for each cylinder to allow for differences in performance to enable all the carbs to work together.

I'm in Northampton, but since getting a single cylinder bike I think I re-used the tubing on my gauge. Might still have the bit of wood though, if it's any help?
