I'll be heading down to London from York next Monday to get my passport renewed. Will be staying one or two nights. Can anyone recommend a bike-friendly hotel somewhere within the M25? Was thinking something along the lines of a Travelodge with decent motorcycle parking.

Of course, if anyone in London is willing to put me up for a day or two in exchange for beer tokens, please PM me Smile

If you have to go to Petty France to renew your passport (do they do that there, still?)

Then there is a Travelodge in Battersea near the Heliport, which I *think* has parking round the back, and which should be okay, its only about 10 mins ride from there to Petty France.

You could call them direct and ask : 020 7420 4953

Ah, I should have mentioned that it's a Malaysian passport and the destination being the M'sian immigration office in Belgrave Square.

That being said, that Travelodge looks close enough to Belgrave Square as well. Will give it a look, Google reviews mention of thieves checking out their car park though Confused

I have a secure underground car park at work with dedicated motorcycle bays and cctv, I can arrange for you to leave your bike there whilst your in London, hotels nearby are very expensive though. WC1E 6BT is where the car park is.

Ooo, I love Belgrave Square, its quite plain in terms of street furniture or wildlife, but the buildings are big and glorious architecture, and the streets are wide and sweeping on a bike: mostly empty cos of the embassies ...

... but if you're not used to London, it's a cunt to get into from almost everywhere: bordered by junctions at Sloane Square, Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge and Victoria. All awful log-jams of stressy traffic.

So if you're not fond of traffic or stress, park up (accept Conan's offer) and get the tube, its only a couple of stops from where he is suggesting his offer of secure parking. Or take a bus, stroll and enjoy the scenery.

Thanks for all the help, offers and PMs guys, really appreciate it.

I've decided to stay at the Palmers Lodge hostel in Willesden. £28 for two nights, free breakfast and they have parking too. Should be good. Laughing If it's a nice place for bikers I'll spread the word!

One would hope it is, as it has 60 "classic" bikes in the bar and a Watsonian sidecar as a display statue.

Looks quite tidy for a youth hostel, do you have to be a youth to use them? (last stayed at one in 1984! Laughing )

Greenwich and Putney Bridge definitely have.

Also, the Ibis at Euston.

Ha yes, I caught a glimpse of the bikes in one of their website photos. Didn't realise it was a display, thought some vintage rideout was in session!

Palmers Lodge is apparently a 'boutique hostel', they aim to be one level above your usual YHA. Independent of the YHA as well so anyone can stay there. Frankly, it looks like they give you a ton of stuff for just £15 a night. Free breakfast, linen, wifi etc, not exactly no-frills! Will see how it's like.

If anyone sees someone in blue/yellow leathers on a heavily modified red CB500 getting overwhelmed by the London crowds, it's probably me Laughing Off to watch as many RoyalJordanian vlogs as I can for reconnaissance purposes...
