ive been driving for about 10 years, an riding (CG on a CBT) since feb '13

Got my second lesson booked for Wednesday afternoon which the instructor has said will be 1 1/2 hour mod 1 training an 1 hour riding

should i book my Mod 1 for next week, or the week after?

im desperate to pass

i had my first lesson on a big bike on Saturday an found i was crap at figure of eight an the turn in the road was a bit wobbly - im putting this down to a strange bike (ER5 with a crap clutch) an err it was windy

hazard avoidence was reet as was my emergency stop hitting around 30 - 35mph (is that fast enough)?

Just do eeet. You're as likely to pass through hero-sweat as to fail through over-training.

A standard ER5 is not a suitable bike for either A2 or A tests, by the way. Presumably your training school know that, and have either another bike lined up, or a "certificate" of restriction acceptable to the DSA for A2.

If you're doing A2 then it bloomin' well better be, or at a minimum be packing a bit of paper claiming that it is.

A2 is 395cc+ and 25-35kW inclusive. The ER-5 claimed 36.5kW. OK, it would never test at over 35kW now, but the DSA list it as requiring evidence of restriction.

The bike that you're going to be sitting your tests on. Very Happy
