A health & safety consultant is currently on trial at Bournemouth Crown Court. He is being tried on charges of perverting the course of justice, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident. He has previously been proved guilty of causing death by dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving whilst uninsured. The evidence submitted appears pretty damning and if accurate then he is one hell of a heartless, lying turd. If he is found guilty then I hope that he receives the maximum sentence possible.

Seen some of this on the news as it is local to here, he is a real piece of work, lying to his wife about breaking down, getting car repaired for cash after hitting a'deer' and being 3rd party only, yeah right on a 20k car and having 4k in cash to pay for the damage to be fixed Rolling Eyes
Witness said they saw him hit the bike and keep driving with the bike under the front of the car before it came out and was hit by the minibus behind.

Hope he'll get many years for it but likely just a few years and a further ban which he'll ignore

Brian Hampton has today been sentenced to 6 years imprisonment. He got 2 years for killing the kid, 4 years for lying, fuckall for driving whilst disqualified and fuckall for being uninsured.
It seems that lying is considered more serious than killing someone.

That's a ridiculous sentence. He'll be out quicker than what people have been banged up for evading taxes. I wish bad things upon that man.

Fuck knows, the guy who hit me and put me in a coma, then a wheelchair for 8 months AND fled from the scene was given 18 days in prison, those were for driving without insurance whilst disqualified.

They also disqualified him for 2 more years, yeah, because that stops them driving right... Nothing for hitting me and breaking half my body Rolling Eyes

Legal system = fucked. He should be subject to a firing range that only fires at the legs, then 20 years minimum. Fuck the cunt.

Whoa whoa whoa...

Say whaaaaat, he caused death by dangerous/careless driving, fucking do him for it, useless fucking wankers.

Props to the Dorset and other coppers who pursued this one relentlessly for months. Protip #1: in a hit-and-run, be a pretty 16 year old girl.

If not for that massive effort (1,400 cars individually investigated) the Droopy-looking gorilla would have gotten away with it. Protip #2: if you mash someone up and they're not a pretty 16 year old girl, then drive away and try to cover it up, it'll probably work.

The sentence is... disappointing. But understandable, the CPS as usual twatted it up.

That should have been dangerous, not careless (screw the circumstances of the driving, the jury would have bought it because pretty 16 year old girl). Where was the charge for failure to stop? Failure to report? Why not throw in causing death by driving while unlicensed, disqualified or uninsured as well? They're separate offences, there's no reason in the statute why they can't both be applied. If not, then where's the deterrence?

4 years for perverting is shoddy, but the judge was sentencing on the crime, not the victim.

But... why no life ban? The guy was already banned for 3 x limit drink-driving, it's a no-brainer that he was lathered when he killed the girl as well.

What exactly do you have to do before a judge says "No, you don't get another chance, ever." ?

The thug will be out in 3 years and will just pop the cork, get behind a wheel again and carry on as before.

Seems these days killing someone in a car accident and driving off is easier and you get less time for manslaughter and/or murder.

it was only some yobbo on a bike he hit.

That's the way it usually seems to work. Just a bloody biker, innit, probably had it coming.

In this case, if it had been anyone but an elfin 16 year old girl - a popular member of the local Young Firefighters Association to boot - then I very much doubt it would ever have seen a courtroom.

If we're feeling aggrieved, think how the coppers must feel. A massive, sustained national operation, real proper police work, and the guy's out in 3 years.

I doubt he. He's probably got little memory of the incident to bother him. And while he changed his plea to the careless driving charge to guilty to "spare the family", he's still sticking to the "I thought I hit a deer" story in his denial to the perversion charge.

In any system approaching a just one, he should be on a life tariff with no possibility of parole until he drops that utter tosh and accepts culpability for what he did.

Anyone can petition the Attorney General to protest undue leniency. I'm not sure if any of the charges fall within the silly artificial list that he's allowed to review though.

Just to say, riding a ped on that road, in the position she was in the junction is fucking stupid.

Yes, I know, no excuse for the bloke doing what he did, but it is a very risky thing to do, if it were my daughter doing that route I would make damn sure she wouldn't do it that way.

The very worst of inhumanity : cares more for himself than others in their time of most need.
I cant even begin to think of the terrible retribution he deserves , but his sentence is not nearly enough.
I do so hope that the prison daddy has a "thing" for old fatties!

Bit late if shes dead. Thumbs Up Driver is a fucking mong, moped rider was using the independence given to her. Can't complain at that.

Have sent appeal also, I'd be fucking livid if it was my child at that pitiful sentence.

Don't think he would have cared if he had been given a life ban or three months tbh, as he was disqualified when he killed her .

One can only hope that his fellow prison colleagues have not had their smuggled 4G mobile phones confiscated and know what sort he is. I would like to imagine he would receive better justice from them.

Nasty bastard.

Dear Mr Borg,

Thank you for your email of 19th September concerning the sentence passed on Brian Hampton.

After very careful consideration the Solicitor General has decided not to refer this sentence to the Court of Appeal for consideration as being unduly lenient.

I realise that you will be disappointed, but I can assure you that the decision was taken after the most careful analysis of the case.

Yours sincerely,

Well done Borg but you know that to get results you need to moan about something on facebook, like and share with a stupid photo attached.

This writing to the authorities concerned will get you nowhere.

2 years for the killing the girl!? :/
I know someone who got 2 years for GBH over a stupid little fight. I find the 2 years he got for killing her hard to understand? Surely thats below the minimum sentence for manslaughter or death by dangerous driving?
