New jacket bought in the HG sale, tis exactly what I want jacket-wise being waterproof and fitting how I want it to fit except it's a little tight on the arms when I've got a thin hoodie on under it.

I know leathers are meant to fit like a second skin, but should textiles be a similar fit?

It's not un-comfortable, but it's not as comfortable as it could be

Particularly if you arent zipping it to textile trousers id get if fairly snug personally. That being said jacket on its on will never be all that secure either way given enough knocking/sliding to make it ride up.

I prefer a nice snug fit. I also found that wearing a hoody over the top was nicer Laughing

If it's there some thermo liner in it, then take it off. Thumbs Up

Leathers start off tight because they give a bit and then fit better. I don't think textiles work in quite the same way.

Oh, wait a minute, are you a narcissistic body builder who's about to post endless pictures of the "Black Sheep gun show"?

I'm as skinny as a rake apart from my torso where I'm going one better than a 6 pack and working on a keg.

I will be zipping to textile trousers, unfortunately it's got a long zip and my current trousers are short zip but they are worn so need replacing.

There is a thermal liner which is in at the mo, wanting the warmth and waterproof the jacket is offering.

My textile jacket is super tight and feels a bit of a bastard but I imagine it will stay in place should I ever come off. That's the theory, at least. Smile

I like having the option of putting a hoodie on underneath so usually get a size up.

I would eBay it and get a bigger one.

If you're on here asking then is not comfortable enough and you don't want to be thinking about your jacket all the time. Question

i have a leather jacket which is 42 chest, and my textile jacket is 42-44 and is somewhat looser fitting than my leather, in the winter though I wear a hoody etc under it which makes it a relatively snug fit then

Use some clips or velcro to connect it to the belt on your jeans. That will keep it from riding up too much.

Bought jacket in shop that doesn't fit then asks BCF if its comfortable or not?

Dont be a lemon, try stuff on & buy it if its comfy. If its not, dont buy it! You dont come on here to ask if your new trainers fit right, you dont come on to ask if you should get a medium t-shirt or a large - bike clothings no different Laughing

Helmet fitting is a different story entirely.

I've yet to actually sit on the bike wearing it to check for comfort in a riding position.

I'm asking for advice on fit as I wasn't sure if it should be a snug fit to ensure padding etc is held in place or not, I'm good on T-shirt fit and shoes however.

Ok, better question, should this be a tight fitting jacket?

I would say no. It's similar cut to mine and I tighten the straps etc in spring and autumn when I've not got the layers on underneath. In winter I have about 5 layers under mine. Smile
In Summer I've been wearing my sons tight-cut textile jacket which looks tons better and is comfy and airy but isn't warm enough or roomy enough for winter.
