Recently changed the address on my licence and V5.
Did the licence online, didn't need to send anything off
(apart from old licence cut in two).
New licence arrived in less than a week.
Had to fill out and post the V5 to the DVLA though.
Sent mine recorded delivery as they have a habit of
losing things. This took a bit longer to come back, two or
three weeks. ____________________ Current Bike: 2004 Suzuki Bandit 600S

This means (Or should mean) that if the clowns at the DVLA loose an entitlement when changing your address you still physically have your original license showing your entitlements.

Good point. I didn't send back my old licence (cut up) until
I had received and checked the new one. Have heard stories
of peeps losing their entitlements and DVLA don't care. ____________________ Current Bike: 2004 Suzuki Bandit 600S

Ive never actually had to request it thankfully, but ive hoped should it ever arise a photocopy of pass certs/license etc allows enough cross referencing to either let dvla chase it up (as if ) or you to dispute it to such an extent theyll fold. I.e comparing your photocopy against examination centre records etc.
Thats speculating though really touch wood i never end up in that hole |
