Anybody familiar with these? A mate of mine went through them without even realising they were there. He turned back and noticed them the second time round.

He has no idea what speed he was doing... could be absolutely anything... I'm guessing a) they do work and b) he's fucked.

In the meanwhile waiting for the (most likely) NIP, anything for him to research at all regards to not getting points/banned?

Which Devil's Bridge? The one in Wales or Kirkby Lonsdale? (Or is there more that I don't know about?).

General advice is try having a look at the Pepipoo forums

Kirkbylonsdale. Yeah I think he knows about that one. I think those cameras have film so there might be a miniscule chance there for him.

Coming from Ingleton just as you turn right in to Devils there is a camera.

Coming from the M6 j36 there is a camera just as you are coming close to Devils.

Both are digital ones and they are high up. They don't need film.

The limit is 40.

They're hard to spot until you're on top of them, or in my mate's case he didn't spot them at all. Just has to wait and see really. He says he couldn't been doing anything from 40 to 90, he doesn't remember.

Are motoring offence solicitors any good for this sort of thing? Or will it be a waste of money.

I doubt 90.

Tbh if there was traffic it would have slowed for it.

I am captain slow since my crash a few years back. But I still have my inforad gps which basically goes red if there is a speed camera and flashes like mad if there is a speed camera and you are going too fast.

I was at Devils today, soo busy.

Pretty annoying for your mate. If there wasn't any traffic then I could imagine doing close to 90 especially with loads of other bikes at the bridge.

Although it's still no excuse for not seeing them! There is the tell tail paint marks on the road Wink Laughing

Fingers crossed they weren't on.

They're not that visible they're really thin ones compared to GATSO lines, when your brain is programmed to spot the GATSO ones. Yeah he might be fucked. I'm 80% sure he's in for 6 points or a ban.

Should have turned in to Devils if coming from the East.

That way you would have had to slowed and turned right.

I know the ones you mean, I think they are flash ones from memory so I would guess they would have flashed if he had triggered them. Dont know for sure, just trying to be positive!

Thing to do is NOT spend ages looking through the internet unless he gets a NIP or letter from Plod. There is soooo much bollox talked about on the internet about speeding with people talking out of their arses for a high percentage of the comments. You will also get the 'holy'er than thow brigade' lecturing you and your mate on how evil it is to speed and all that. It more likely than not just wind him up with a chance nothing will come of it anyway.

Only worry if you get something through and it is a high speed. The only website I would recommend is pepipoo.com the info there is pretty good. Only then and if high speed would I get a laywer. I would get one that is local to the court where it will be heard. Worth their weight in gold and not expensive. My expereince of court and speeding is it is a very different world to what you expect so a laywer is worth it to hold his hand and help him. The laywer I used was £200 all in fixed fee from memory or a little less

Good luck to him, hope nowt comes of it.

Looks well easy to spot, but it's deceivingly hard when you're new to the area and trying to read signs.

Friend would probably be willing to pay up to £1000 if it means keeping licence / minimising points - are motoring solicitors actually worth the money? What do they do?
