Can you get some pictures up?

I used to have a Coguar, but it's all a bit hazy and some pictures would probably help to remind me!

:D you didnt get it from my mate down south near cardigan did you??????

by the looks......the thickish wire coming from the starter motor would be connected to the thickish spare wire.......with the other two being the solenoid "energiser wires"........back in a min need to look at pics agin and cant go sideways....... :D

yep........if the two thick wires ......one to the starter and one from the loom and connected....the starter will ( should ) work.........be carefull of sparksa next to the carb and make sure its in neutral......

the energiser wires.....ideally need wiring diagram but suss out with your meter if one wire goes straight to earth......the other wire may become live when the starter button is pressed.....but remember that the solenoid energiser wires may be disabled if in gear with clutch out, also side stand may influence energiser wires.........take your time.......dont burn out the loom.....etc etc etc :karma:

had to replace a bad solenoid on my cougar, generally it doesn't matter what order what order the wires go in, small ones on the small terminals fat wires on the fat terminals, waterproof the hell out of it with tape, slide it into the back rubber band shown in the picture.

Bob's your uncle, Fanny's your aunt it should turnover.
