Ok, so on the hunt for a 125 supermoto, and I've decided on these two. Now the wr is much more expensive, but reliable and in my opinion looks better, however, the dr is quite cheap in comparison, so what are the main differences, and which would you recomend?

Baring in mind, I'm buying second hand!

Cheers,
James

I've not owned either, but a close friend has a wr (the r not the x though). Its a brilliant bike. It feels like a 250. Its fast, feels nice in the bends and has no problems off road.
The only issues are the seat height (I'm 6"5 and its perfect for me), its only got a 428 chain so it does stretch a fair bit and the plastics which shatter even if you look at them funny.
If you can afford it, buy it.

To me they appear to be an off-road bike with a few compromises to make it a viable option on the road (the WR) versus a road bike which has been styled to make it look like an off-road bike (the DR).

There was an obvious reason the WR was over one and a half times the price of the DR from new, when I was in the market for a 125, as it was clearly assembled from quality components whereas the Suzuki (like many Suzukis) appeared to be assembled from the parts bin.

Get the WR.

XR125 with supermoto wheels. Cheaper and just as fast as the WR.

Or have the superior Aprilia MX125.

Might aswell get a DT if it's going to be a 2 stroke! Might actually get from A to B without a seizure or the electrics shagging themselves. Laughing

Minimal electrics and it won't seize if you look after it.
