Moving windows 7 to a new pc

Hi guys, looking for a bit of advice, I'm in need of a new desktop computer and can get one much cheaper with no o/s installed. Ice got windows 7 on the laptop it will be replacing, so is there any way of moving this o/s to the new computer or do I have to pay mr gates even more money? thanks
