Got one of these, it is absolutely not tear proof. But did pretty well on the water repellant front over the 2 years or so I've owned it.

It doubled as a sleeping mat when I was touring Europe and has been used and abused to hell and back. Definitely worth it at that price.

they are far superior to the cheap motorcycle covers that Tesco Direct sell anyway

The LIDL one I have doesn't lock to the front or rear wheel and the stupid licence plate window bit ripped. Thumbs Down

I thought of it as a safety feature if parked on the street at night as it would reflect car headlights and they'd hopefully avoid hitting the weird shaped hump.

Sadly it would make life easier for traffic wardens!

Will give them a go. The lining on my R&G one has totally disintegrated in the space of a year, and now each morning I uncover my bike it looks like I've just shaken a snow-dome. Sad

Other half needs a cover for her bike too and am a bit skint this month to fork out a £100 on a pair of decent Oxford covers.

Yes.

In fact, there's no requirement to be on a road. On a strict reading, obscuring or removing the VRM while the vehicle is on your property, or even in your garage, is still an offence.

However, the reality of it is: how are they going to prosecute the driver or keeper if they can't identify the vehicle? See also muddy plates and ANPR, it's the perfect crime.

If you're going to obscure your plate, do a proper job of it, would be my point.

In my defence, I planned to wash my plate (if I judged it was required) when I got home as I didn't have a suitable means to do so when the police officer stopped me your honour."

i park my bikes with the back to the kerb and at 45 degrees to it so they take up minimal road width and nosey buggers cant see the reg
