I'll start off by saying that I'm not 100% that the fiend was a badger, still waiting on the forensics.

So I'm heading home after a nice ride around with a mate, about 10pm doing 65ish down the A roads. I'm behind my friend, who's behind a car. All of a sudden I see, and hit, what I presume to be a gigantic badger. The front wheel jumped around sending me over the left hand side of the bike. By the will of the gods my grip stayed true and I managed to hold on. Gripping my bike with my right knee on the seat and my right hand only (probably doing 50+ still) I managed to push my left knee off the road and sling myself back onto the bike and proceed to poo myself. I was dangling off the snaking bike for long enough to realise how fucked I was, so as you can imagine it wasn't a very pleasant experience.

Damage assessment: - front wheel buckled
- tiny bruise on knee (hurts a nice bit though)
- no sign of the badger, but a 65mph smack probably sent it to the moon.

But yeah, my question: can I get my front wheel bent back to shape? Save me buying a new rim? The buckle is noticeable when riding, and when looking at the wheel in motion. But there's no clink in the rim wall so its looks like a smooth buckle.

And remember: badgers are bastards.

Badger will just be very angry somewhere. Oddly I hit a dead fox last Sunday, crested a blend crest on a right hand bend at some speed, to arrive at a fox dead across the lane. No option for swerving so I had to hit, finally got the bike stopped 200 yards down the road on the wrong side of the road.

Then had to run back down the road to warn others following, and remove the fox. My bike made a mess of his head, flattened it.

Picked it up by the tail and flung out over the hedge with bits of brain and sinew flying everywhere.
