I'll most likely be getting a motorcycle soon. So any good places to get the gear? I'd like to try it on so websites wouldn't really be preferable for me.

P.S I live in the UK, so if you could name some good nationwide stores that'd be awesome.

Have you done your CBT yet?

If not, don't buy anything until you've done your CBT, where the instructor will give you some idea of what to look for. Wear boots, good jeans and a jacket with some tough/tear-resistant material. Leather is good. They'll provide you with the rest.

If you have, the U.K. is a big place and you don't specify, but some big chains include J&S, Infinity, Hein Gericke. There's a store locator on the web sites of all of those.

Ghostbikes often have some very good deals on sale items, and have never let me down yet with delivery or refunds.

I also buy stuff from https://www.motolegends.com/ but then I am actually made of money Wink

Another plus for ghost bikes, ive used them a few times and always been great. I need a new helmet soon. tried the ones I want locally but will order from them as they are way cheaper and you get a free gift. Very Happy

Location unseen, I'd go J&S over Hein Gericke as they stock a larger range of stuff, and down to a lower budget.

Although it does depend on the store, I do quite like the Glasgow HG.

It would help to know where in the country you are, I have found that some of the dealerships have a good range.

Depending on your budget I would go second hand on ebay for everything apart from a helmet.

For a helmet I would never recommend buying online. As part of our CBT talk we (school I work for) always recommend buying a new helmet from a shop. Yes you will get it cheaper on Ebay but you do not know what condition it will be in when it arrives, whether its been dropped by the postie, thrown around in the van, thrown/kicked on the van etc.

When I need a new lid I go to J&S. Anything else, Ebay.

If you haven't got a bike yet you are in no rush.

If you want new gear....
I would wait til the MotorcycleLive show at the NEC 23rd Nov - 1st Dec.

Go on the last day and barter for discounts.

Be a good day out anyway!

I have never yet found a HG store with anything in stock that is my size to try on, apart from helmets. Confused
