Chrome marking everything as read

It seems, does it around 80% of the time when i come onto this forum (and another forum) there is no new threads, as if iv logged in before any ideas?
I should point out im not very computer savvy.

It could possibly be chrome pre-loading web pages in order to try and decrease page load times.

Try making sure that the 3rd option here is unchecked.
