No, i'm not going to ask how to slow down or anything like that. I mean, when you're sitting there bored waiting for the lights to change. You've already bounced around getting it into neutral and then stuck your right back on. What do you do then?

Personally, I stretch a bit, drum on the tank, work out how much fuel i have left, make sure no-one in cars next to me is on a phone, make sure no-one I told off for not indicating/using a mobile/being crap is next to me giving me a sinister look, wave at any kids staring at me, nod at anyone who nods at me and wink at any girls looking at me (if the missus reads this - that last bit was a joke honest hun!)

Oh, and if it's cold, I stick my hands between the tank and my crotch to try and warm them up. Sure I'm not the only one.

What are your light rituals?

All of the above and

Some times if I pull up next to a fancy car, usually with a balding mid life crisis dude, I rev the Mito and get them in a mood to race.
When the lights go green I casually pull of and watch them rally the car to death before realising I’m being awkward. Oh I’m so mature.

Stare intently at the amber light, heart going 200bpm, waiting to dump the clutch...

..then realising the neutral I had the bike in was one of the random neutrals, and I've just snicked it into 3rd Smile

If the driver next to me is on a mobile, I 'test' my engine, loudly, otherwise I sit, hands together and meditate to clear my mind before I commence battle again when the lights change.

(Think of the scene in Star Wars - Phantom Menace when Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) is fighting the Seth and the forcefield barriers come down. He stops and rests before they go up again)

LOL. I sing loudly- and swear at other drivers. I'd slowed down to let a car reverse out of its drive when we were both cut up by a Mazda. So i pulled alongside at the lights, beat him out and then pootled along pretending there was something wrong with the engine. Cool

Sit, clutch held in expecting a quick change... discover that the lights aren't as quick as I thought, switch feet and pop it into Neutral, switch back, and see the lights change to Green just as I'm setting my left foot down.

Spend the next set of lights flexing my aching clutch hand. Confused

I try not to stop at red lights. I play the old 'how long can you stay upright at slow speed' game.

Well it amuses me anyhow.

Sometimes I have been known to put the bike on the centre stand and have a good stretch in the road.

Usually I just have a right drumming sesh on the rev counters etc. Laughing

I do that all the time, it's very good for thinking ahead and being aware.

I've been trying to get from home to work or vice versa without putting my feet down (3 roundabouts, rush hour traffic and lots of corners, some main roads, some back, most main tho) and the best I have managed is to get home with putting my foot down only once. It's very hard but one day I will beat it Thumbs Up Laughing

Most of my riding is done in rush hour, so it's normally staring at the amber light, clutch in, waiting to go.

Otherwise the rest of my riding is done late at night, in which case I'm sitting at the red light waiting for a car because my bike doesn't have enough metal to trigger the induction loop for the lights to change.

Tank drumming also comes into play, and since my knees are knackered I try to straighten my legs at traffic lights.

JI normally just play the tank along with whatever tune i have stuck in my head, if its cold my hands get put on the engine.
I have been known to do a summo impersonation, lifting on leg high banging it down then doing the same the other side. My mate was in a car behind me and pissed her self! Laughing Cool

or if there is a boy racer behind me i set off slow so he cant pass and doenst get the race he wanted!

if im next to a boy racer at lights i will just give them the "look" they start revving, i dont they shoot off and i set off normal,

also play the "im not putting my feet down game"

If Im on a slight incline I like to alternate the bikes weight between the front and rear brake. This makes the bike 'sit up' and then 'sit down' as the weight moves. I also like to tap my feet, do the 'im obviously laughing at you' at the nova boys, and wink at the girls.

When at the lights I sit there, clutch in, first gear ready to tear away like a nutter, hoist a monster and disappear into the distance with a fat grin on my mug.

Personally, if there is sufficient time, i'd have a good old tank! Wink Most other circumstances, i sit in 1st and blip the throttle ready to beat the cars up to 30.

Usual routine, right foot on brake and left foot down.
