So I was riding down the outside lane and the power simply cut out, revs died and my lights on the dash came on. Power was lost I rolled to the hard shoulder. Pressed the starter and nothing, not even solenoid click.

I whipped the seat off and changed the ignition fuse and that seemed to make things a little better but the bike still won't start.

I changed the solenoid fuse, so used all my spares and nothing.

Any tips while im waiting feeling sorry for myself ringing around for people to help me.

Guess what the icing on the cake is? No breakdown cover! Bellend

No worries thanks for the offer though. Fucked off.

Police have just stopped by and because I was sat down the side of the bridge they couldn't see me and thought I was a jumper!

I've got a mate coming over from Bolton with some jumps and some more fuses, gonna try swap em out as a last hitch attempt and see if we can jump it. Don't fancy bumping it at the side of a motorway :s

Sounds like your battery is flat for some reason or another, it might be if you can get some charge into it you can get going again, quite possible though that it's not being charged, reg/rec/stator/wiring issues? meaning when it goes flat again your gonna break down some more. Good luck.

Cheers guys I got home. Fuses were fine.

Mate come and we jumped it, got a cheap multimeter out of the packet from halfords but it didn't work! So I rode it home with mate following with no lights etc and it ran. Looked at my reg rec and the connector block looks melted.

Saw the thread about converting to the newer style reg recs so im gonna give that a go I reckon because I've been through 2 of these it seems.

Any tips ?
