With a heavy heart, I watched the Panny as it was ridden away by a young man (22) who turned up, haggled hard and paid in £50 notes.
I decided that as I do fewer and fewer track days the 1199 was simply not being extended enough on the UK roads and so sold it to an ex-work colleague's son.
Replaced it with 2 bikes, a 2013 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC and, as of tomorrow, a 2011 Ducati 1100 Hypermotard.
Liking the V4 loads, a still-very fast indeed streetfighter you can use far more often with street gearing, riding position, etc.
The Hypermotard is partly because the price is silly low, but I kinda like the idea of a simple, air-cooled, big-inch v-twin with 70s engine technology, fettled and modified over the years to run sweet, efficiently and quite quickly. It looks as funky as hell too.
Let the fun begin, before we get the monsoons and minus 8!

I'd not buy the V4, purely due to Aprilia's current horror stories with valve seats Shocked

Nice bikes though! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Ah so you've bought a bike that's been down the road and repaired cheaply? Because that's what a Streefighter is, a naked bike is not a Streetfighter Wink

And a sports bike is a bike used in sports not to find the nearest hamburger. They are all stylised replicas, get over it.

I assume you're referring to my comment there? I am failing to see your point, a naked bike is a naked bike, a streetfighter, is a bike that has gone down the road and been repaired on the cheap just to get it going again, or what it seems to mean these days is you buy a half tidy bike, then turn it into a pile of shit, the idea being that has "had a fight with the street" hence "streetfighter"

A naked bike, hasn't had a fight with the street, so it isn't a streetfighter (goes for you as well Ducati *shakesfist*)

People need to stop getting shit wrong.

See above Paddy, already covered it.

Just people trying to zazz up their unfaired bike as a streetfighter, if you want to be a bit of a cock and call a naked bike a streetfighter, please bear in mind you're now classing every naked bike as a streetfighter, CG125, YBR125, CB400 Superdream, Bandits, and many other shit naked bikes are now streetfighters, also fitting a Dominator headlight doesn't make it a streetfighter.

If you have thrown it down the road, and put it back together cheap and it is still battle scarred, from its fight with the street Wink (clue there) then by all means call it a streetfighter. Otherwise it is a naked bike or unfaired.

Indeed they are, I mean I would happily get it if Ducati perhaps employed your and Iain, Iain in vehicle testing where he just writes off the bikes, then rides them back to you where you go flat out with a hot melt glue gun, probably some glitter and just bits of whatever is lying around the Ducati workshop, then I will happily agree it is a streetfighter, until that day happens, it's a naked bike.

Dave, clearly I do care Wink

So a crashed, bodged CG125 is a streetfighter? Cool I've owned about 30 streetfighters and never realised.

I'd always taken 'streetfighter' to refer to a bike's suitability for urban use - so quicker/lighter steering, no fairings needed because of slower speed and possibly down gearing etc.

I don't see that it being made like that from the factory or because you've smashed up your sports bike and decided you want a chance should make any difference personally.

You're lucky man!

I just gave a man at Ducati £15,000 for a bike he told me was a Streetfighter, that apparently isn't Sad

With the exception of the Ducati. I always thought a streetfighter was any custom/special build that was featured in, or worthy of featuring, in the pages of streetfighter magazine.
And some of those builds were bloody good.

Burnouts are fun occasionally... but still more fun with feet up and going in circles etc Smile.

I've hit top speed on a superbike in a burnout - a turbo on top might have made it a bit easier, but not massively 'better' Smile.

So, more like Neutral, I'd say Razz.
