I have a problem with a 04 hornet 600 it will lose power completely randomly and usually during fairly heavy acceleration usually in 2nd or 3rd when it does happen not always though usually at least 6k revs is required.

It does this even with a full tank.
Ran a couple cycles of carb cleaner.
Wd40 all the connections on the leads.
Fuel filter and tank is clean.
Float chambers in the carb were recently cleaned.

The garage checked the plugs and leads and said they were fine and because this problem happens randomly its hard for them to be on the bike when it happens.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Give it a run at full beef then open the tank. If there's a whoosh noise then it could be a partially blocked breather starving it of fuel at high revs.

The fuel tank breather hoses are completely clear and there is no cracks in the fuel vacuum hose either. Its strange because 9 times out of ten its fine and then completely randomly out of the blue under acceleration engine splutters and loses power just when you need it like an overtake for example.
